Our Approach
When it comes to natural surfaces for architectural design, we're obsessed. We celebrate nature's extraordinary materiality and the standard it sets for great design. We work directly with quarries around the world, and we carry that knowledge through every stage, from material selection to specification to project delivery. And we're experts: it helps that we've been doing this every day for over 25 years.
Our Story
It all began in 2000 when our founder, Ben Kerr, and business partner, Ross Eckersley, were working in the landscape design industry and couldn't find the quality architectural materials they wanted to use. Seeing a gap in the market for more sophisticated, innovative and uniquely textured surfaces, they decided to create their own. We started selling pebbles off the back of a truck in Melbourne. 25 years on, we've grown from Australia across to New Zealand and into the United States – but the obsession hasn't changed. We're still searching for the best raw materials, still working directly with quarries, and still finding our tribe of people who care deeply about design, architecture and the materials that bring them to life.
